About me

Why am I a 'peaceful warrior'?

I'm Catherine, a mother, an editor and writer and now a yoga teacher. One of my favourite asanas (yoga poses) is Peaceful Warrior (Viparita Virabhadrasana in Sanskrit), and I chose this name because I am on a mission to bring accessible yoga to every body, especially those who would like to try an embodied practice but feel there is something blocking them from doing so.

We live in a fast-paced modern world that seems to try to do all it can to disconnect us from our bodies, our breath and our souls. For me, Hatha yoga, pranayama (conscious breathing) and meditation reconnects me to myself and the universe in the most peaceful and joyful way. Now I want to share this with you, my students.

When I first fell in love with yoga and began to consider yoga teacher training I made a resolve that I would try to bring yoga to where it is most needed and not yet accessible. To try to find those who need its healing powers the most. This mission will always continue. You are very welcome to connect with me if you feel I can help you in bringing the love of yoga to a group or individual person who may benefit from any aspect of this ancient wisdom.
